Reviewers Guidelines

The NUML International Journal of Business & Management (NIJBM) appreciates the valuable contribution of local and international reviewers in maintaining the quality, integrity, and credibility of published research. These guidelines should be read together with the journal's Double-Blind Peer Review Policy. All reviewers are expected to provide objective, timely, ethical, and constructive evaluations through the OJS review system.

  1. Reviewer Responsibilities

Accept review invitations only when the manuscript matches your expertise, and you can complete the review within the requested timeframe. Inform the Editor immediately if you are unable to review.

  1. Confidentiality

Treat every manuscript, supplementary file, and review discussion as strictly confidential. Do not share, distribute, or use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage.

  1. Conflict of Interest

Decline the review if any financial, professional, institutional, collaborative, or personal relationship may affect your impartiality.

  1. Evaluation Criteria

Evaluate originality, significance, literature review, theoretical foundation, methodology, data analysis, interpretation, conclusions, practical implications, ethical compliance, language quality, and APA referencing. Base recommendations on evidence rather than personal opinion.

  1. Constructive Feedback

Provide respectful, specific, and actionable comments that help authors improve the manuscript. Distinguish major concerns from minor editorial corrections. Comments to the Editor should remain confidential where appropriate.

  1. Ethical Responsibilities

Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, citation manipulation, unethical research practices, or other publication misconduct to the Editor.

  1. Artificial Intelligence

Do not upload confidential manuscripts to public generative AI tools. Reviewers remain fully responsible for the accuracy, confidentiality, and originality of their review reports.

  1. Recommendation

Recommend one of the following: Accept, Accept with Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject. Provide a clear justification supporting the recommendation.

  1. Professional Conduct

Reviews must be objective, unbiased, and free from discriminatory or offensive language. Evaluate the manuscript solely on scholarly merit.

  1. Acknowledgement

NIJBM recognizes the voluntary contribution of reviewers and values their commitment to maintaining international publication standards.

These guidelines apply equally to local and international reviewers and complement the NIJBM Reviewer Evaluation Form used through the OJS platform.
