Complaint Policy & Procedure

 

The NUML International Journal of Business and Management (NIJBM) is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and ethical integrity in all editorial and publishing processes. To ensure transparency, fairness and adherence to the ethical guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, NIJBM has developed a comprehensive Complaint Policy and Procedure.

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that complaints and grievances raised by authors, reviewers, readers, editorial board members, or any external or internal stakeholder are addressed in a transparent, fair, and timely manner.

Scope of Complaints
Complaints may relate to, but are not limited to:
- Manuscript submission process
- Peer review process
- Editorial decisions
- Conflict of interest
- Publication delays
- Ethical concerns
- Authorship disputes
- Plagiarism concerns
- Data integrity issues

Complaint Handling Procedure
To ensure effective complaint management, the Editorial Board of NIJBM has constituted a Complaint and Grievance Committee. One member of the Editorial Board is nominated to receive and manage complaints.

All complaints must be submitted via email with relevant supporting documentation. Upon receiving a complaint, the committee will:
1. Acknowledge receipt of complaint within 3–5 working days
2. Review the complaint confidentially
3. Conduct necessary consultation with editorial board members
4. Arrange a hearing if required
5. Resolve the complaint within 20–25 working days

Confidentiality
All complaints will be handled confidentially. The identity of the complainant will not be disclosed unless necessary.

Final Decision
The decision of the Editorial Board and Complaint Committee will be considered final. However, complainants may request reconsideration with additional evidence.
